Shenzhen Daily 2009-12-4 The bucolic melodies produced by harmonica accompanied many people's school years before piano and violin became popular in China. This week's free musical Sunday is an opportunity to relive those precious years.
The Hong Kong Harmonica Association is giving a concert performed by international prizewinning artists, including Huang Zhirong, Harmonic Momentum and King's College Harmonica Band. The program, in the form of solos, duets and group performance, will cover Puccini's arias, Sarasate's "Gypsy Air" and pop songs. Pianist Chen Shuolin will collaborate at the concert.
Last month, members of the Hong Kong Harmonica Association won 14 medals at the World Harmonica Festival in Germany.
