Shenzhen Art School Philharmonic Orchestra (SASPO) was founded in November 30, 2006. It was formed by Shenzhen youth artists and outstanding art professionals which serves as the production base of good quality art products. SASPO has made a great progress in performing under the severe training by Mr. Lei in recent years. Its works varied from classicalism to romanticism and earned good compliments from celebrities of all circles including world’s well-known maestro Zubin Mehta. SASPO is to committed to bring new highlight to Shenzhen's music and its goal is to create a platform for youth artists.
Conductor,Lei Yu
Lei Yu has served as orchestral dean, principal conductor of Shenzhen Art School as well as guest conductor of Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra since 2007. He is also the member of Chinese Musicians Association, managing director of Shenzhen Musicians Association. Mr Lei graduated from Tianjin Conservatory of Music in 1982 and worked at Tianjin Symphony Orchestra afterwards. In 1989, Mr Lei became the permanent conductor of Tianjin Symphony Orchestra. He was appointed principal conductor of PLA Navy Political Department Music and Dance Troupe in 1992. One year later, Mr Lei participated in 1st National Conducting Contest and won the conducting prize of Chinese works.
Moreover, Mr Lei has commanded the Central Philharmonic Orchestra, China Youth Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Opera House Orchestra, Kunitachi College of Music Orchestra in Vienna and received many compliments.
